The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced EC&I Field Engineer to support construction quality surveillance on the Hinkley Point C nuclear project. An opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects
The Role
This role is critical in ensuring all electrical construction activities meet stringent quality standards, contractual requirements, and nuclear safety expectations. You will operate within a large, fast-paced site environment, playing a key role in maintaining compliance, safety, and programme delivery. Monday to Friday working pattern, with potential weekend work and overtime available.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Carry out on-site surveillance of electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications, drawings, and Quality Control Plans
* Fulfil NEC Supervisor duties, ensuring adherence to project and quality standards
* Identify, raise, and track non-conformances, quality risks, and potential issues before they impact delivery
* Work collaboratively with contractors, site teams, and the Construction Superintendent to maintain safe and efficient workflows
* Review and verify Quality Inspection Records (QIRs) prior to works being covered up
* Ensure accurate and timely quality reporting and documentation
* Promote and uphold a strong Nuclear Safety Culture across all site activities
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
* Valid CSCS and/or SMSTS certification
* Proven experience in a construction/site-based engineering role, ideally within nuclear or other highly regulated environments
* Strong understanding of quality assurance and control processes
* Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
* Minimum HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
* High level of attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
