Job Description:
Are you curious, hands-on, and passionate about food? We’re looking for someone to step into a key maternity cover role as R&D Support Technologist in our Innovation team, based at our York site on a 12 month FTC working 31 hours per week.
This role involves variety, collaboration, and supporting ideas from concept to shelf. You will work closely with our Senior R&D Technologist, organizing factory trials, managing ingredients, running sensory labs, and testing new products. The role touches many parts of the business, including Process, Operations, Technical, Procurement, and Marketing, providing a comprehensive view of product development.
Your responsibilities include preparing factory trials, managing documentation, leading sensory panels, and ensuring the R&D team has the necessary tools and insights. You will take ownership of lab activities, oversee shelf-life and sensory testing, and deputize for the Senior Technologist when needed.
We seek someone organized, proactive, and confident in a fast-paced environment. A background in food or confectionery manufacturing is advantageous. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, such as product launches, store checks, or customer visits.
