Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef/cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a flair for creating delicious meals that delight our guests. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the menu and customer preferences
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and meal presentation
* Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow
* Manage inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and best practices
* Create new menu items and specials to enhance the dining experience
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
* you will be expected to work with the rest of the team in the clean down at the end of the shift.
Skills
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
* Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques
* Previous restaurant/cafe experience is highly desirable
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a very fast-paced environment
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills for effective teamwork in the kitchen
* A passion for serving high-quality dishes that exceed guest expectations
