A specialist geotechnical consultancy based in Birmingham is looking to expand its close:knit technical team with the appointment of a Geotechnical Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, highly regarded consultancy where you will gain hands:on exposure to projects from initial site investigation through to detailed geotechnical design and reporting.
The company works across a range of residential, commercial and infrastructure developments and can offer tailored training, direct mentorship from senior engineers and a clear route for progression within the business.
The Role
* Assisting with and supervising ground investigations
* Soil and rock logging to current industry standards
* Preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
* Undertaking geotechnical analysis including foundations, retaining walls and slope stability
* Liaising directly with clients, contractors and subcontractors
* Supporting project delivery from tender stage through to completion
* Carrying out site visits and overseeing drilling operations
Requirements
* Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
* Previous consultancy or ground investigation experience preferred
* Understanding of geotechnical principles and site investigation techniques
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Motivated individual looking to progress within a specialist consultancy environment
* Full UK driving licence
