About the Role
Minehead Hospital boasts state of the art facilities in a rural location with 19 single bed rooms and two four‑bed bays, all equipped with ensuites and overhead hoist systems. We also have a dedicated end‑of‑life care room, rehabilitation and sub‑acute medical intervention facilities. Staff amenities include a dining room with a south‑facing balcony, a free staff car park and modern changing rooms.
We are looking for registered nurses with experience in a hospital environment to join this established team. Development and training will be offered and hours are expected to be flexible, including nights and weekends.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, dynamic and team‑oriented, with strong communication skills and a patient‑centred approach to nursing. You will work under the support of the ward sister, aim to provide a high standard of care and demonstrate leadership when necessary.
Main Duties
Provide and maintain a high standard of evidence‑based, patient‑centred care; demonstrate good interpersonal skills; develop appropriate practical skills; deliver daily patient care using multidisciplinary systems; support patients, relatives and carers through the Trust’s patient and public involvement strategy; and, for experienced Band 5 post holders, provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department in the absence of senior team members.
