What are the working hours/days?
This role will involve working 5 days a week (38 hours).
Who are we looking for?
1. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in all areas of fishkeeping, with some previous experience in aquatics and fishkeeping, an enthusiasm for the hobby, and a strong commitment to customer service.
2. They should be self-motivated, positive, and organised, as well as hardworking and enthusiastic to learn.
3. The person we are looking for should be a positive, practical individual who is keen to be part of a strong, happy team of staff who enjoy working in their vocational career.
What does the role involve?
4. Aiding in the day-to-day maintenance of the store, including caring for the wide variety of livestock that we carry and serving customers.
5. Delivery of excellent standards of livestock care and store presentation.
6. Greet and welcome all our customers in an articulate, approachable, and friendly manner to maintain our high standards of customer care.
7. Communicate your fishkeeping knowledge clearly to customers with varying levels of experience and maintain our policy of responsible fishkeeping.
8. Working efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
9. Completing sales correctly and efficiently, ensuring customers leave the store fully satisfied.
10. Getting merchandise out onto the shop floor, organising stock neatly on the shelves and making sure it's correctly priced and available.
Preferred qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in fishkeeping and experience working in the retail industry.
