Business Development Manager / Sales Manager £45 - £55k (DOE) Company Overview Our client is a leading manufacturer of engineered infrastructure solutions. Due to continued growth within the data centre infrastructure and electrical power sectors, our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales growth, expand market share, and secure long-term contracts within key target industries. The Opportunity This is a strategic and hands-on business development role focused on generating new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and supporting the continued commercial growth of the organisation. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full sales cycle, from lead generation and prospect qualification through to tender submission, negotiation, and contract award. They will play a key role in positioning the company as a preferred supplier within its target markets. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities across target sectors. Achieve and exceed agreed sales and revenue targets. Generate leads through networking, industry events, exhibitions, referrals, and market research. Monitor and manage tender opportunities through relevant procurement and e-tendering platforms. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Manage the full sales process from initial enquiry through to contract award. Act as the primary point of contact for customer sales enquiries. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and account retention. Monitor market activity, competitor developments, and emerging industry trends. Identify opportunities for expansion into new sectors, regions, and service offerings. Maintain accurate sales records, pipeline activity, and forecasting information. Conduct market analysis and competitor research to support business development activities. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the commercial function. Candidate Requirements Minimum of 5 years' experience in a business development or technical sales role. Strong industry background within one or more of the following sectors: Data Centre Infrastructure Electrical Power Distribution Switchgear Utilities Engineering Manufacturing Critical Infrastructure Demonstrated experience managing the full sales cycle.
