Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream setting?
Hays Education is working closely with a reputable mainstream primary/secondary school seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
Your new role
1. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with additional learning needs ( Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language)
2. Assist the class teacher with adapting resources and lessons to meet individual needs
3. Encourage positive behaviour and enable pupils to access the curriculum
4. Help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
5. Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to support pupil progress
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience supporting children with SEN (school, care, or youth settings considered)
7. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
8. Strongmunication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
9. A willingness to use initiative and follow guidance
10. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Hays)
