Join to apply for the One Stop - Shift Leader role at One Stop Stores Ltd. We’re looking for a Shift Leader to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will take ownership of store activities by running duty shifts, coordinating a team to deliver a clean and full store that exceeds customer expectations. As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on the job coaching and feedback. You will have a great understanding of how your store is performing and be the specialist in delivering practical actions for its improvement by taking a hands on approach. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
* Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, making sure all decisions are right for customers, colleagues, and everyone’s safety
* Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for day-to-day operational queries
* Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere
* Ensure the store is always clean, tidy, and well presented
* Prioritize replenishment of products that matter to our customers
* Ensure point of sale and shelf edge labels reflect what good looks like
* Take immediate action for any overcharges and prevent any recurrence
* Proactively manage queues in store to deliver a great shopping trip
* Coordinate colleagues to deliver daily priorities and manage breaks around trade patterns
* Be knowledgeable about the store and coordinate efforts to implement practical improvements
* Follow company health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same
* Deliver clear communication to the team and keep colleagues well informed
* Look for ways to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager
* Always put the customer first and tailor service to meet individual needs
* Resolve customer queries and leave customers with a positive impression
* Identify and remove obstacles to delivering great service
* Resolve colleagues’ queries in the absence of the Store Manager or escalate as appropriate
* Ensure appropriate staffing and cover shifts during short-term absences or sickness
* Act as a recognised Keyholder for the store, attending alarm call outs as needed
* Monitor and action internal communications to keep colleagues informed
* Coordinate colleagues to meet customer and store needs and feed back issues to the Store Manager
* Balance time between service and replenishment areas
* Support the Store Manager in managing absence, including return to work interviews for CSA colleagues and absence triggers per policy
* Build relationships with Area Manager and People Partner and escalate issues in a timely manner, seeking coaching opportunities
* If applicable, perform day-to-day Post Office Local operations and pass required background checks
