Role Overview
This role is specifically for a strong Java/Kotlin Developer within the Equity Derivatives strategic pre-trade technology team in Belfast. It offers an opportunity for a self-driven, passionate technologist to help transform Equities Derivatives systems into an integrated, best-in-class platform, supporting business growth amidst industry and regulatory challenges. The team works in an agile manner, with autonomy over technology decisions, owning the continuous delivery pipeline and aiming for frequent releases.
Responsibilities
1. Partner with development teams to ensure integration and identify system enhancements for new products and process improvements.
2. Resolve high-impact problems through evaluation of complex business and system processes.
3. Build expertise in application programming, ensuring design adheres to architecture blueprints.
4. Develop understanding of system flow, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation best practices.
5. Gain comprehensive knowledge of bank areas like architecture and infrastructure to meet business goals.
6. Collaborate on architecture, design, development, code review, testing, and maintenance of applications.
What You Will Bring
Experience in building scalable, enterprise-grade applications using best engineering practices, with a collaborative and diverse environment that fosters creative problem solving.
Experience Required
* Strong knowledge of Java / Kotlin, RESTful web services, XML, JSON.
* Experience with microservices, Kubernetes/OpenShift containers.
* Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL storage technologies.
* Experience with source code management tools like Git or Bitbucket.
* Understanding of clean coding principles and design patterns.
* Proven application of TDD and BDD practices, with CI/CD pipelines.
Bonus Points
* Understanding of Equity Derivatives or other asset classes.
* Kotlin development experience.
* Knowledge of Equity Derivatives products and lifecycle.
* Experience with UI frameworks like React or Angular.
* Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes or other cloud platforms.
Qualifications
* University degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
