About this job

The Role This is a senior, client-facing role focused on pre-deal technology due diligence and value creation for private equity investors.

You will lead the delivery of complex buy‑side and sell‑side engagements, working directly with Investment Directors, Operating Partners, CIOs and management teams.

You will be expected to operate with autonomy, commercial judgement and leadership, not simply manage workstreams.

This role is open to all locations within the UK with flexible working options.

What You Will Do

* Lead Pre‑Deal Technology Due Diligence: assess platform scalability, technical debt, product architecture and cloud maturity, evaluate cyber resilience, data strategy and IT operating model effectiveness, identify risks to investment thesis and quantify remediation costs, assess separation complexity in carve‑out scenarios, translate technical findings into commercially relevant insights for investors.
* Lead management sessions and present findings directly to PE deal teams.
* Drive Value Creation: develop 100‑day technology plans, identify EBITDA‑enhancing initiatives across automation, systems rationalisation, data monetisation and digital enablement, design scalable operating models to support buy‑and‑build strategies, support integration and separation planning.
* Build and Scale the Practice: support origination and proposal development, deepen relationships with PE funds and portfolio leadership, mentor and develop high‑performing managers and senior consultants, contribute to the continued productisation and refinement of our Tech DD methodology.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for commercially‑minded technology leaders who thrive in high‑performance environments.

Experience

* Extensive experience in technology consulting, IT advisory or technology due diligence.
* Direct experience supporting private equity transactions.
* Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, ERP/CRM landscapes and cyber risk.
* Experience assessing scalability, technical debt and operating model maturity.
* Proven ability to lead teams and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

You Will Stand Out If You:

* Have led buy‑side Tech DD engagements end‑to‑end.
* Have supported carve‑outs or complex separations.
* Understand how technology drives EBITDA and exit value.
* Have experience in high‑growth or PE‑backed environments.

Why Join Now?

* Join a market‑leading, PE‑focused Tech M&A team in a sustained growth phase.
* Work directly with top‑tier PE investors and Operating Partners.
* High visibility and responsibility from day one.
* Clear pathway to Director in a rapidly expanding practice.
* Opportunity to shape the future of our PE technology proposition.

This role is suited to ambitious leaders who want to operate at the sharp end of technology and transactions, and who are motivated by impact, pace and growth.

At KPMG, we seek candidates who can thrive in our high‑performance culture and can demonstrate the following behaviours:

* Deliver Impact: Make sound decisions.
* Foster Innovation: Embraces a culture of innovation and experimentation to create value.
* Apply a strategic perspective: Uses diverse sets of inputs to develop a broad perspective on business and people issues.
* Seek Growth: Take opportunities to learn and adapt; uses insights and self‑reflection to build capability and embrace new challenges.
* Develop and motivate others: Engages teams, instils confidence, and coaches people to find meaning in their work and achieve exceptional results.
* Build collaborative relationships: Establishes strong relationships internally and externally and builds wide and productive networks.
* Inspire Trust: Drive quality, delivers high‑quality products and exceptional service that provide value.
* Act ethically and responsibly: Behaves ethically and encourages others to do the same.
* Advocate for Equality: Creates opportunities to address inequity and enables all people to feel like they belong.
