Welcome to bemix
bemix is a Kent-based charity supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities to speak up, make choices and be heard in all areas of life – education, training, employment, relationships, and community. Our work is driven by a belief in equality, inclusion, and the potential of every individual.

About the Role
This is a key role within the bemix Workforce Development team. As Workforce Development Lead (Maternity Cover), you will help shape and deliver our approach to recruitment, training, wellbeing, retention and values-led employment across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of Workforce Development, you will take a hands-on lead in ensuring that our workforce is supported, equipped and aligned with our mission and values.
In bemix, we believe that “every single person is valued as an individual”. Our people are therefore our most important asset — they shape the culture, deliver meaningful support, and drive the creativity that defines our work. This role plays a vital part in helping our staff and volunteers feel confident, cared for, and able to thrive in their roles.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a progressive, values-driven organisation. You will be joining a committed and passionate team at a time when your skills and experience can make a real difference.
This is a maternity cover post expected to last for up to 12 months, with initial induction time and a possible period of handover to the colleague returning from maternity leave.
About bemix
bemix is an innovative and dynamic Kent-based charity working alongside people with learning disabilities and autistic people to support choice, independence, inclusion and opportunity in all areas of life – learning, employment, health, relationships, self-advocacy and community. Over 20 years, we have grown in size and strength, building a unique and values-led organisation that brings people with and without learning disabilities and/or autistic people together in meaningful collaboration.
Our projects include supported employment programmes, 1:1 Life Choices support, day opportunities, social enterprise activities, and self-advocacy and leadership initiatives. Whether it’s being seen working, being heard campaigning, or belonging to a group of peers, people have every opportunity to achieve their goals with bemix.

Job Description
Main aim:
To provide inclusive, values-led workforce development support across recruitment, onboarding, line management support, data management, policy implementation and workforce communications – ensuring every staff member experiences a consistent, supportive and person-centred journey at bemix.
To translate strategic workforce priorities into effective systems and processes that promote compliance, enable data-informed decision making, and support staff and managers to thrive in their roles.
To model and embed the bemix EPIC values and co-production principles in all aspects of workforce development, supporting an inclusive, neurodiverse and person-centred working culture.
Start date:
We anticipate a start date of mid to late October, and would like someone in post to start induction by November at the latest.
Hours: Working 37 hours per week, working Monday - Friday between 9 am - 5 pm, with an unpaid break time allocated for each day.
Salary: £32,000 per annum.
Pension: Contributory pension scheme – generous employer contribution of 5% of salary. A salary sacrifice scheme is available.
Location: The role offers hybrid working, combining remote and office-based work.
