Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of individuals with physical disabilities?
We are seeking an aspiring or experienced dedicated professional to work with both adults and children, providing specialist care and support. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalised action plans, and carry out detailed risk assessments.
You will also be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, ensuring that each client receives tailored support to meet their unique needs. You will work alongside a dynamic team of experienced occupational therapists and technical instructors, contributing to the delivery of an exceptional service that improves the quality of life for those we serve.
If you're committed to helping others achieve greater independence and well-being, this is the opportunity for you!
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
What will you be doing?
To complete skilled and specialised occupational therapy assessments and moving and handling assessments for customers with a wide range of medical conditions, in accordance with all relevant legislation and eligibility criteria.
To facilitate safe and appropriate interventions which enable customers to optimise their independence; this may include the use of complex specialist equipment, minor and major adaptations, or specialist advice. Reviews of these interventions may be required.
About you
* You'll possess a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration.
* Full driving license with access to your own vehicle.
* Proven experience of addressing complex and sensitive issues with consideration for equality, diversity, and individual rights.
* Ability to be collaborative, working across agencies to achieve successful outcomes, such as discharge planning or rehousing, is highly desirable.
