This is a permanent, part-time role teaching PE across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE. You’ll be joining a collaborative department and a school committed to student well-being and achievement.
About The Role:
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic and engaging physical education lessons to students across various abilities. You will foster a love for sport, promote healthy lifestyles, and develop practical skills and teamwork. For ECTs, this role offers excellent support and mentorship within a thriving department.
Responsibilities:
1. Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality PE lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Years 7-11), including GCSE PE.
2. Assessing, monitoring, recording, and reporting on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils.
3. Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages participation and skill development.
4. Utilising a variety of teaching methods and sports activities to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
5. Contributing to the development and enhancement of the PE curriculum and extracurricular sports programme.
6. Managing and maintaining sports equipment and facilities safely and effectively.
7. Participating in departmental meetings, school events, and potentially after-school clubs or fixtures.
8. Fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, and actively engaging in the wider school community.
Requirements:
9. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
10. A relevant degree in Physical Education, Sport Science, or a related subject. Experience teaching PE across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a UK secondary school (ECTs are welcome to apply and will receive full support).
11. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for PE and GCSE specifications.
12. Excellent classroom and sports-specific management skills, with a focus on safety and engagement.
13. Passion for physical education and a genuine desire to inspire students of all abilities.
14. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
15. Commitment to continuous professional development.
16. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
