Boys & Boden Builders Merchants is a successful, well-established and expanding Independent Builders Merchants.
We are looking to recruit to our team an experienced HGV Driver (Class 2) driver to deliver via multi-drops building materials to customers in the local area.
The role will be responsible for loading and unloading goods daily from our Newtown Branch and completing customer deliveries around the Newtown and Welshpool areas.
The role will require the candidate to use a Forklift, HIAB Crane and book loads out via our computer system.
Experience:
* A clean current driving licence, for all relevant vehicles up to and including Class 2 HGV
* An ALLMI Card or similiar training certification and relevant previous experience is desirable but not essential.
* The driver will be required to use a forklift, therefore a counterbalance Forklift Certificate is desirable, but not essential.
* Some knowledge of building products preferred
* In addition to deliveries the candidate will need to undertake manual handling.
* Training will be provided for the right candidate for HIAB/Forklift
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 5.30pm*
Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm
*Please note that there will be some occasions where you may be required to work over and above these times to complete deliveries.
Salary dependent on experience
Responsibilities
* Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to deliver goods to various locations efficiently and safely.
* Ensure timely multi-drop deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.
* Load and unload vehicles, securing loads to prevent damage during transit.
* Conduct routine vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure road worthiness.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns.
* Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required.
