What You'll Do
* Ensure security is embedded in Network Infrastructure (Mobile and Fixed Line) including planning, designing and building phase.
* Define technical security controls for efficient implementation.
* Ensure compliance with Legal and Regulatory requirements.
* Fulfil Key Customers obligations and Stakeholders expectation.
* Ensure security architecture activity is timely delivered to support other technology and business functions.
* Contribute to, define and assess complex design proposal.
As the Security Architect SbD Networks you will develop and document end‑to‑end security architecture that protects the network infrastructure from significant cyber security threats to VodafoneThree.
Ensure security architecture is developed to protect the availability, confidentiality and integrity of network infrastructure assets and the customer services provided by these assets.
The security architect will develop this architecture in conjunction with Group and European region technical architects and influence them to support the UK position. This architecture and ability to influence senior technical stakeholders across the group will underpin attaining and retaining business‑critical certificates and legislative obligations.
Key Functions Of This Role
* Senior member of the Secure by Design Networks Team.
* Review telecoms project designs and architectures against the company's cyber security policies and communicate this to project teams.
* Assess project designs against requirements, including the UK Telecommunications Security Act (TSA).
* Line reporting to the Secure by Design Manager (Networks).
* Guide and embed effective security controls into Network architectures.
* Provide Cyber Security guidance, design input and design review/assessment of complex changes.
* Specify and scope security penetration testing of complex designs, and ensure identified vulnerabilities are remediated.
* Identify Cyber Security risks and ensure they are managed effectively.
* Assist members of the Secure by Design Networks team with understanding of designs.
* Provide leadership, updates and guidance for cyber control implementation and their ongoing assessment and improvement.
Who You Are
Enhanced vetting may be carried out for this role.
* Educated to degree level and/or equivalent technical experience (preferably 7+ years) with a proven track record of delivering complex cross-domain Networks/IT solutions architectures/designs in the telecommunications industry.
* 5 years of experience in Cyber Security role.
* Knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, SOX, ITIL, COBIT, NIST frameworks.
* Knowledge of legal, regulatory and privacy requirements, such as PII and PCI/DSS.
* Ability to think strategically and drive change.
* Deep understanding of Technology Security risks and mitigating solutions.
* Wide security background including layered security architecture, telecoms specific architectures, internet protocols, firewalls, network segmentation, VPN, SD‑WAN, anti‑malware, risk and vulnerability assessments and compliance.
* Demonstrable recent track record of delivering security controls across enterprise domains in large telecommunications environments.
* Sound knowledge of fixed and mobile network architectures and methodologies to secure them.
* Experience in enterprise and security architecture practices and methods.
* Network security architecture development and definition.
* Strong organisational skills; ability to work under time and resource pressure.
* Excellent communication skills to work with broad and senior stakeholders.
* Customer‑focused, responsive and transparent attitude.
* Industry security certification (CISSP strongly preferred).
* TOGAF architecture qualification desired.
* Network certification (CCNA, CCNP) desired.
