Start your surveying career with a focus on what matters most: our historic buildings.
Due to a rapidly growing pipeline of conservation work across the UK, we’re expanding our team. We’re seeking a Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor to join our specialist practice working exclusively within the historic environment. From medieval churches and Georgian townhouses to Arts & Crafts villas and scheduled monuments, you’ll help care for some of the UK’s most remarkable buildings.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone just starting out in their surveying career who wants to build experience in the heritage sector from day one.
You’ll be involved in condition surveys, specifying fabric repairs, statutory consents, and contract administration—always with the support of an experienced team dedicated to conservation.
What we’re looking for:
* A RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying (required)
* A clear interest in historic buildings and traditional construction
* Strong writing and observational skills
* Excellent digital and IT skills, including confidence with tools like AutoCAD, Excel, and Word
* A proactive, inquisitive mindset
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
* Willingness to travel to sites across the UK
* Full clean driving licence and car
What we offer:
* A salary of £25,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
* Full APC support and heritage-specific training
* Hybrid working several days per week
* A collaborative, knowledgeable team with a passion for conservation
* Exposure to meaningful, varied projects across the country
If you want to work where your love of old buildings is an asset—not a side interest—we’d love to hear from you.
