Payroll & Finance Assistant
Overview:
TSR Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading law firm who are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance and Payroll Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in both finance and payroll who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Duties:
* Assist with client account management and reconciliations
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Reconcile bank statements and maintain ledgers
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
* Manage purchase orders and expense claims
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Payroll Duties:
* Process monthly payroll for all staff (including starters, leavers, and contractual changes)
* Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP)
* Verify tax codes and deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions)
* Liaise with HMRC and pension providers
* Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports
* Respond to payroll queries from staff and external stakeholders
Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience in both finance and payroll functions
* Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., Xero, Sage)
* Strong Excel and IT skills
* Excellent attention to detail and time management
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Salary & Benefits:
* £25,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
* 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays)
