DCT Recruitment is currently recruiting a competent and motivated Health & Safety Officer to join our client’s team at the Shotton Mill site in Deeside. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Supervisor who has recently qualified and is looking to step into their first dedicated Health & Safety role. You'll play a key part in maintaining a safe working environment on a high-profile industrial project, with support from an experienced site team. Key Responsibilities: •Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken •Carry out detailed risk assessments in line with current legislation •Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses – compiling reports and recommending preventive measures •Deliver toolbox talks and safety inductions to operatives and contractors •Liaise with site management and external bodies to support ongoing safety initiatives •Maintain accurate health & safety records and documentation •Support emergency planning and response procedures on-site Requirements: •Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent) •Previous experience in a site-based environment – ideal for those transitioning from a supervisory role •Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills •Proactive, organised, and able to work independently This is a hands-on, site-based role offering a clear career path in health & safety within a busy and supportive team.
