Overview
Band 6 - Staff Nurse for Renal (Epsom Unit). We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Nurse with experience or interest in renal care and excellent interpersonal skills.
The South West Thames Renal Unit, Epsom Satellite unit has 20 stations facilitating dialysis for St Helier University Hospitals. The unit is open Monday to Saturday from 06:30 to 18:30 and is closed on Sundays. This is a great opportunity to develop your dialysis and management skills. The unit at Epsom Dialysis Unit is nurse-led and benefits from a wide range of experiences and knowledge across renal and other clinical settings. Responsibilities
* Under the supervision of Sister/Charge Nurse you will be accountable for the total provision, organisation and direction of the nursing care for the patient under your care.
* You will assess, plan and implement specialised packages of nursing care to patients as the named nurse.
* You will ensure that care is patient-focused and that patient dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
* You will act under direction of the registered nurse in charge of the nursing team in setting standards and expectations in the quality of care. Take an active role in maintaining effective communication with all disciplines, patients and relatives.
* You will represent patients at multi-disciplinary meetings ensuring that their needs are assertively presented, for example handover, discharge planning, attending case conferences, and team referrals such as OT, physio, pain team, tissue viability, renal access and dietician.
