Most experts will tell you that retail is hard. They might be right. In many ways, the retail landscape has changed, and companies that haven't adapted will not survive. Thankfully, many have, and this business is one of them. Profitable and stable, yet always seeking new ways to delight customers, they have maintained their position in a growing market with many exciting future plans and initiatives.
The Person
You are a bright and capable retailer with enthusiasm and potential to grow further. A willingness to learn, an entrepreneurial approach, and a broad commercial streak are essential. You will have control over layout and stock packages and be responsible for all onsite projects, managing 99% of store activities, which provides great visibility. Skilled in profit protection and sales generation, you know how to use analytical skills to spot sales opportunities, minimize shrinkage, and enhance the bottom line.
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role involves full responsibility for all day-to-day store operations, including:
1. Leading all short, medium, and long-term store plans.
2. Setting standards for layout, look and feel, service standards, product mix, and profit protection.
3. Controlling budgets and managing the P&L.
In return, you will be supported by a structure that is present when needed but unobtrusive otherwise. You will receive full training and be treated as an adult. The compensation package is attractive, with a decent bonus, and a healthy work-life balance. No expectation of weekend work or late nights unless during peak seasons. You will run your store independently.
The Company
A household name in the sector, they have a long-standing history but remain open to new ideas and growth. Well-respected, financially stable, and optimistic about the future.
