Position: Associate Principal Scientist (In Vitro DMPK)

About the Role
We are looking for an Associate Principal Scientist to join our In Vitro DMPK Assay group at the Hoddesdon site supporting Discovery ADME screening through to early development (e.g. studies associated with ICHM12). As a subject matter expert, you will develop in vitro DMPK laboratory solutions to specific project requirements, ensuring appropriate experimental conditions are applied.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, plan and optimize in vitro DMPK experimental plans to solve complex questions, contributing positively to accountability.
* Effectively lead and coordinate multidisciplinary, cross‑functional scientists to deliver agreed project outputs.
* Actively contribute to the knowledge and capability of the organization through guidance, training, mentoring and sharing of best practice.
* Lead, document and report/present results of all experiments in line with department practices and policies.
* Act as a system owner of equipment and instrumentation, including supporting qualification activities.
* Lead the implementation and adoption of key internal business practices and applicable external regulations, adhering to all policies governing their business activities.
* Work closely with other teams within Biosciences, particularly Bioanalysis colleagues, to ensure efficient and joint ways of working.
* Support and positively contribute to departmental or site audits as directed by scientific supervisor / Line Manager as necessary.
Candidate Profile
* An MSc or a BSc in a Biological Science, Chemistry or related subject with industrial experience in a relevant role.
* Significant knowledge and experience of either application of ICHM12 guidelines, lab automation or high‑throughput discovery screening assays.
* Evidence of experience in successful application of DMPK skill sets to resolve project and assay issues.
* Broad experience in DMPK bench science and data manipulation, applying expert knowledge of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
* Working knowledge of LCMS/MS data interpretation.
* Ability to effectively contribute to multidisciplinary scientific teams, enabling project progression.
* Experience in mentoring or coaching of junior staff.
* Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present scientific findings to colleagues and customers.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and customers.
