Band 5 Staff Nurse – East Wing 10 High Dependency Unit
Our Unit is looking for you!
East Wing 10 is a state-of-the-art, new and improved 15-bedded unit, and we are seeking enthusiastic and energised nurses to join our friendly, welcoming team. This new venture aims to deliver high-quality level 2 patient care. EW10 HDU is an integral part of the large and dynamic Critical Care department at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), caring for both surgical and medical patients. These patients are either stepped down from Intensive Care or require a step up in care from the ward or Emergency Department. They often need support for one or more organs, such as non-invasive ventilation, renal replacement therapy, and advanced cardiovascular support, all requiring close monitoring.
The upgraded facilities and enhanced infection control measures will improve our ability to cater to the complex needs of critically ill patients. Guy’s and St Thomas’ are committed to investing in hospital environments to enhance care and patient experience. This is part of several capital projects aimed at improving facilities.

Would you like to work as a Band 5 Staff Nurse in one of the largest Critical Care departments in the UK? We are recruiting experienced and motivated nurses for Critical Care, with no previous critical care experience required (High Dependency or Intensive Care), who are seeking an innovative, challenging, and inspiring career.
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK’s best-known hospitals – Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton, and Harefield – along with community services in Lambeth and Southwark. We have a long history of high-quality care, clinical excellence, research, and innovation.
We are among the UK’s busiest and most successful foundation trusts, providing specialist care for conditions including heart, lung, cancer, and renal services, as well as a full range of local hospital and community services for Lambeth and Southwark.
As part of King’s Health Partners, we are one of England’s eight academic health sciences centres, integrating clinical services, teaching, and research. We host a National Institute for Health Research biomedical research centre in partnership with King’s College London, along with dedicated clinical research facilities.
With around 22,700 staff, we are one of the largest NHS Trusts and a major local employer. We aim to reflect the diversity of our communities and continue developing partnerships with local people, patients, NHS organizations, local authorities, charitable bodies, and GPs.
