Design Manager – Responsibilities
* Early involvement at tender and bid stage, working closely with estimating and teams to carry out detailed investigations of the scheme.
* Identify and assess opportunities and potential issues within critical pathways, perform value engineering exercises where needed and prepare detailed input for tender and bid packages.
* Lead the information flow between client, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, ensuring seamless collaboration on framework schemes.
* Take the scheme from tender through bid, award and construction phase, managing design implementation on site alongside the project manager and delivery teams.
* Manage RFIs, change process, CDM regulations and other contractual matters through to handover and commissioning.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced Design Manager with a proven track record on schemes above £10 million.
* Strong background in both Design and Build projects, including D & B and framework negotiations.
* Exceptional work practices, attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to identify opportunities and potential issues.
