Solicitor (Grade A/B) – Clinical Negligence – Leeds
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – flexible working)
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our dynamic and supportive team. As a Senior Solicitor you will enjoy a high level of autonomy, handling complex cases from start to finish and ensuring each is conducted with a proactive and commercially focused approach. You will correspond regularly with clients, medical experts and other stakeholders to provide clear, informed guidance and maintain strong, supportive relationships. Main Responsibilities
* Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
* Proactive and commercial case management and progression
* Supporting the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
* Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible For
* Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and members of the team
* Identifying cases ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
* Working with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable progression of the case
* Managing a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
* Co‑ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
* Drafting legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction
* Negotiating settlement and issuing and servicing proceedings if required
* Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advising the team on any technical issues arising from the work
Essential Skills And Experience
* Recent experience of handling a case load
* 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
* Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
* Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
* Excellent client‑care skills
