SALARY: £27,779 FTE / £20,928 Actual Annual Salary + Benefits
LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire (SO30)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)
WORKING HOURS: 32.5 hours per week,8.30am 3.30pm Monday to Friday,term time only, 39 weeks

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA to join a supportive and forward-thinking primary school environment.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will support teachers in delivering the curriculum, working across whole classes, small groups and on a one-to-one basis to enhance pupil progress and engagement.
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA role is varied and rewarding, requiring flexibility, strong classroom management skills and a passion for supporting learning and development in a primary education setting.
You will contribute to lesson planning, assessment, safeguarding and behaviour management, helping to create an inclusive, positive and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will include:
* Lesson Support and Delivery: Assist with planning, preparing and delivering lessons across the curriculum
* Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and purposeful learning environment using behaviour management strategies
* Pupil Support: Work with individuals and small groups to support learning, development and engagement
* Class Cover: Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence
* Assessment and Feedback: Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive verbal and written feedback
* Resource Preparation: Develop and adapt teaching resources to meet pupil needs
* Inclusion and SEN Support: Support pupils with additional needs and promote inclusive learning
* Safeguarding Responsibilities: Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
* Parental Engagement: Support communication with parents and contribute to progress discussions
* Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of pupil achievement and progress
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
* HLTA qualification or equivalent
* Previous experience working within a school or education setting
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Experience supporting teaching, learning and classroom management
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to work
DESIRABLE
* Experience delivering lessons or covering classes
* Knowledge of SEN support and inclusive education practices
* Familiarity with assessment and pupil progress tracking
* Experience working across different age groups within primary education
