We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Assistant SENDCo to join a dedicated team at a vibrant school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to support their provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, working alongside an experienced SENDCo and leadership team. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as an Assistant SENDCo:
1. Support the SENDCo in leading the day-to-day operation of SEND provision across the school.
2. Work with staff, pupils, and families to ensure children with additional needs are fully supported to achieve their potential.
3. Assist in the identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND.
4. Support the writing, reviewing, and implementation of EHCPs, Individual Support Plans, and personalised interventions.
5. Help organise and deliver training and support for staff regarding inclusive teaching strategies.
6. Liaise with external agencies and professionals where appropriate.
7. Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and achievement for all pupils.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Holds QTS and has experience of working with pupils with SEND.
2. Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners.
3. Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
4. Works collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies.
5. Understands current SEND legislation, the Code of Practice, and inclusive classroom strategies.
6. (Desirable) Has completed, is working towards, or is willing to undertake the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
