Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Long-Term

Supply Desk is excited to be working with a respected primary school in Borehamwood, known for its inclusive community and dedicated staff. We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time, long-term basis from February 2026.
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, build confidence, and encourage personal development. You will play a key role in helping children develop essential skills, grow in independence, and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Assist with classroom organisation and support positive behaviour management.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Support teachers during lessons and classroom activities.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Help create and maintain a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor and contribute to reporting on pupils’ progress and wellbeing.
Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting is preferred.
• Patient, empathetic, and proactive in your approach to supporting pupils.
• Confident in behaviour management and following classroom routines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good understanding of inclusive practices and safeguarding standards.
• Holds, or is willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
