RCHT is currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer looking to develop their clinical and professional skills.

The role will include rotating to other sites within the imaging department.

3rd Year students hoping to qualify this summer are encouraged to apply as we can employ as a B4 ARP until HCPC registration is achieved.

Main duties of the job

To perform a wide range of clinical imaging examinations within Clinical Imaging as well as in Theatres, Wards and Accident and Emergency.

To work as part of a team providing a 24-hour, 7-day radiographic service for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, including a commitment to the 'on-call' service.

The Practitioner will comply with the Ionising Radiation Regulation (IRR 17), Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) regulation (IR(ME)R 17) and the Trust Radiation Safety Policy.

Justify radiology referrals (within scope of practice) using referral criteria which falls within the Royal College of Radiologists Guidelines and the Clinical Imaging Protocol Manual.

To rotate to other Hospitals within imaging department.

To work closely with colleagues within a multidisciplinary team

Person Specification


Qualifications

* DCR(R) or BSc Hons (Radiography) in Diagnostic Imaging
* Current state registration through HCPC.
* 3rd Year students


Experience

* Previous experience working in the NHS/ Healthcare setting
* Experience working in a busy Imaging Department
* Placement Experience in a imaging department


Practical Skills

* Ability to work autonomously or part of a team
* Ability to prioritise own workload and work under pressure
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills
* Basic IT skills necessary to use specialist imaging equipment
* Experience in using PACS and RIS


Disposition Adjustment and Attitude

* Pleasant, cheerful team player
* Motivated- Can Do Attitude
* Accurate written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate clinical information clinical information to patients and colleagues
* Caring and professional attitude
* Flexibility and ability to take part in shifts including out of hours, weekends and bank holidays.
* Rotate to other Hospitals within Imaging


Training

* Commitment to attend in-house training and CPD learning
* Willingness to further current knowledge
* Mandatory training


Additional Circumstances

* Ability to undertake duties
* A criminal record check satisfactory to the Trust.
* Post holder must comply with professional code of conduct and/or code of conduct for NHS managers where applicable
* To hold a valid Full UK drivers license
* Right to work in the UK
