We are looking for an experienced external transport manager to work in a consultancy capacity as the O Licence Holder for the business, specifically to develop and grow our backhaul strategic initiatives. Are you dynamic, focused, driven and detailed in approach with analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
· Compliance Management:
Develop and implement transport policies, ensure the operator licence is accurate, and manage the timely upload of digital tachograph data.
· Vehicle Maintenance:
Ensure vehicles are maintained, roadworthy, and inspected at appropriate intervals to satisfy statutory requirements and operator licence conditions.
· Driver Compliance:
Monitor driver adherence to driving hours rules, ensure drivers hold the correct licences and qualifications (e.g. Driver CPC), and ensure daily driver inspections and defect reports are actioned.
· Record Keeping:
Ensure all necessary records, such as driver defect reports, tachograph data, and maintenance documents, are kept accurately and for the minimum required periods.
· Legislative Awareness:
Stay informed about changes in transport laws and regulations and ensure the operator adheres to them.
· Reporting and Audits:
Conduct audits, review performance, prepare and review reports, and handle or advise on reporting any shortcomings to the relevant authorities.
· Traffic Commissioner Liaison:
Support the operator by managing requests for information from the Traffic Commissioner's Office.
