THE COMPANY Our client, a well-established accountancy practice in Pelsall, is seeking an ambitious AAT Accounts Assistant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. THE ROLE As an AAT Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role within this Walsall-based practice. You will receive hands-on training and support to prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and audit-exempt limited companies across a diverse client portfolio. Key responsibilities include: • Preparing income and corporation tax computations • Performing bookkeeping duties • Preparing VAT returns • Creating cash flow forecasts and projections • Engaging directly with clients, including face-to-face interactions The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of practice experience, strong accounting skills, and proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Sage and a solid understanding of income and corporation tax are essential. You will be a proactive team player, passionate about delivering excellent client service, and capable of communicating effectively both in person and in writing. The firm provides ongoing support for professional development, including opportunities to pursue AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications. REQUIREMENTS To succeed in this role, you should ideally have: • Experience in a practice environment or a strong desire to develop in this setting • Solid accounting skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications • Proficiency in Sage and Xero, with knowledge of income and corporation tax • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team and firm success • Exceptional client service skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels The company is committed to supporting ongoing professional development, including training towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications where appropriate.
