Home Manager
Annual Salary: Up to £44,093, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reed is recruiting for a Home Manager for a semi-independent home based in Twickenham for young people. This role is perfect for someone who is full of life, ideas, creativity, and energy, and who possesses the unique ability to unlock the potential in young people. As a Home Manager, you will lead a semi-independent home supporting up to 21 young people, ensuring their safety, happiness, and development.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Safeguard young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies, and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.
* Provide regular supervision for staff, assess training needs, and source or deliver training and coaching where appropriate.
* Ensure effective operation of housing management policies and practices, including maximisation of income and fair referral procedures.
* Maintain appropriate staff cover through production of rotas and recruitment of locum covers when necessary, ensuring staffing needs are met within designated budgets.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* At least three years’ experience in providing leaving care and/or housing support to vulnerable client groups, including young people.
* At least one year’s experience in effectively managing professional staff.
* A good understanding of Safeguarding and the legal framework relevant to residential services for young people aged 16+.
* Thorough knowledge of the issues leading to youth homelessness, including those related to alcohol/drug dependency and mental health.
* Familiarity with the welfare benefits system and resources relevant to supporting young people.
* Awareness of health and safety regulations and procedures to minimise risk.
* High regard for young people and ability to manage conflict situations effectively.
* A vocational or management qualification at NVQ level 4 or equivalent is desirable.
