Your New Role…
We are on the lookout for a Sr Director, Legal, Intellectual Property to lead our trademark, copyright, and IP policy matters across EMEA. Based in the UK, you will provide essential legal guidance on global trademark portfolios, disputes, enforcement, and copyright issues, while collaborating closely with executive stakeholders and external counsel. This role is pivotal in shaping IP policy across the EMEA region.
Your Role Accountabilities...
* Deliver strategic legal guidance on trademark selection, use, clearance, prosecution, and global portfolio management.
* Lead and manage global trademark and copyright disputes, oppositions, cancellations, and infringements.
* Provide expert advice on trademark and copyright litigation matters.
* Advise on international production and marketing clearance issues, including freedom of panorama.
* Manage IP Policy issues for the EMEA region, reviewing legislative developments and assessing implications for WBD.
* Oversee relationships with trade associations on IP Policy issues, setting MPA EMEA strategy in consultation with the Head of Global IP Policy.
Qualifications & Experience...
* UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with robust experience in IP law (trademark, brand protection, copyright).
* In-depth knowledge of IP policy issues in the media and entertainment industry.
* Extensive experience counseling clients at all levels, with a proven ability to be a trusted advisor on IP matters.
Working Conditions
This role offers a Hybrid working model, combining remote and in-office work in line with our company policy and your Line Manager's agreement. Please note that WBD reserves the right to adjust this working arrangement as necessary for business needs.
