Responsibilities
* Support and/or prompt with personal care including toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
* Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
* Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary (e.g. hospital/doctors).
* Support with food shopping.
* Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
* Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship.
* The individual's needs may vary from day to day and tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
* You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately and to report defects/hazards which may give rise to an accident.
* You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Car driver and car owner - must have business insurance.

Qualifications and Experience
* Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
* Previous caring experience is essential.
* Previous experience in childcare/special needs is essential.
* Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the employer's needs on a daily basis.
* Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
* Be self‑motivated with a willingness to get involved.
* When required, dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
Additional Information
* Disabled artist with a love for camper vans. 2 dogs on the property and cats. Dogs are small and non‑threatening. Enjoys all arts and crafts related hobbies. Support with food shopping and household chores and can work around school times. No moving and handling required. It is a smoking household with an allocated smoking room.
