Technical Manager Leisure Facilities Location: South London Type: 4-5 days per week, Contract 3-6 months Salary: Excellent Day Rate plus expenses Are you an experienced maintenance leader with a passion for sustainability? Were recruiting a Technical Manager on behalf of a respected leisure management client in the South London area. We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee the maintenance of building structures and services, while driving forward energy efficiency and carbon reduction initiatives. In this contract role, youll take ownership of a portfolio of sites, ensuring full statutory and contractual compliance while optimising the use of green energy systems to reduce dependence on the national grid. What you will be doing Plant Room Operations : Overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all pool plant equipment, including filtration systems, pumps, heating, ventilation (AHUs), and chemical dosing systems. Air Handling Units (AHUs): Managing the maintenance, and fault finding of AHUs to control air temperature and humidity levels, which is critical in preventing condensation and ensuring the comfort and safety of pool users. Water Quality and Treatment : Conducting or overseeing regular water testing and chemical balancing to meet health and safety standards, often compliant with PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group) guidelines. Maintenance & Repairs : Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs), reactive maintenance tasks, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems. Health and Safety Compliance : Ensuring all operations adhere to health and safety regulations and compliance requirements. Project Management : In some roles, managing technical and commercial tasks for new installations or refurbishment projects, including reviewing specifications and maintaining contractual records. Advisory provide technical advice and guidance on proposed plant upgrades and replacements, especially where we are looking to improve performance and efficiencies Training and mentoring : Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced team members at sites. BMS Knowledge : of working with a Building Management System would be desirable. What we are looking for Extensive experience in the swimming pool industry including knowledge of chemical dosing, UV, filtration & swimming pool water treatment plant A natural relationship-builder with a proven track record of outstanding customer service Strong project management skills: organised, proactive and commercially aware Able to manage your own workload and be adaptable, particularly during busy times Strong, practical understanding of pool hydraulics, filtration, heating and water chemistry Excellent fault-finding ability across electro-mechanical, and plumbing systems Full UK driving licence If youre ready to take the lead on energy strategy and sustainable maintenance within a dynamic environment, wed love to hear from you.
