Provides personal care and related services according to a care plan, ensuring the comfort and needs of patients at home.
Essential Functions
Performs activities of daily living assistance, including:
* Personal hygiene (bathing, mouth, skin, hair care)
* Ambulation
* Eating
* Dressing
* Meal and snack preparation
Performs patient-specific activities taught by a nurse, such as:
* Reinforcing dressings
* Assisting with prescribed exercises
* Measuring and preparing special diets
Performs homemaking activities like vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and cleaning.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
* Six months healthcare experience as a Personal Care Assistant
* Completion of a Competency Evaluation per state law
* CPR certification recommended
* Ability to communicate effectively in English
* Valid driver’s license and transportation
* 30-40 hours of basic care training required
