HGV Technician Required in Dartford – Day Shifts
1. Salary: £21.37 per hour (Annual Salary: Approximately £44,449.60 based on standard hours)
2. Hours: 4 on 4 off, Day Shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Our client, a leading commercial vehicle fleet management company, operates 14 depots across the UK, delivering a clearly defined portfolio of support services to a variety of industries. They are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their IRTEC Accredited workshop in Dartford, supporting the day-to-day running of commercial vehicles.
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:
3. Delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, and modifications on commercial vehicles.
4. Ensuring a clean and safe workshop environment at all times.
5. Collaborating with the VMU manager and team to meet workshop objectives and maintain strong employee and customer relationships.
6. Conducting quality diagnostics and repairs in line with repair orders and technical standards.
7. Striving for a Rectification Ratio – Zero (right first time).
8. Accurately recording and reporting time spent on repairs and maintenance.
9. Maintaining the working capacity of machines and tools.
The ideal candidate will have:
10. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification (essential).
11. Experience working on HGVs in a fleet or commercial environment.
12. Practical knowledge of using information technology and systems to deliver objectives.
13. A safety-focused attitude with a commitment to achieving the right result the first time.
14. A flexible, can-do attitude with strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
15. HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
16. Experience with tail lifts (desirable).
