About the Role
We are looking for a professional and motivated Security Officer to join our team for one of Manchester's leading corporate fast paced environments. This role requires excellent customer service, strong situational awareness, and the ability to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. You will play a key part in front-of-house operations, access control, patrolling, emergency response, and supporting building management.
Responsibilities
* Security & Operational Duties: Carry out internal and external patrols in line with assignment instructions.
* Control access and egress through reception and security points.
* Monitor and manage access passes and maintain accurate records.
* Provide support in the Control Room (CCTV monitoring if licenced).
* Assist with Building Host duties, tenant engagement, and reception support.
* Conduct building-wide checks, including safety, maintenance and compliance checks.
* Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and health & safety issues.
* Complete entries in the Daily Occurrence Book (DOB - Merlin).
* Maintain professional presentation and high customer service standards at all times.
* Car park management for visitors and tenants.
* Front of House Duties: Greet visitors and tenants in a polite, professional manner.
* Deliver a concierge-style service aligned with Client's expectations.
* Assist with visitor management and pass creation.
* Maintain the reception area's presentation to agreed standards.
Required Skills & Attributes
* Excellent communication skills and professional demeanour.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Ability to remain calm and act appropriately under pressure.
* High attention to detail and good observation skills.
* Proficient with basic IT (Word, Excel, email systems).
* Reliable, punctual, and confident.
Training & Compliance Requirements
* Follow all Assignment Instructions (AIs).
* Complete all mandatory Mitie e-learning modules.
* Maintain full compliance with SIA standards, health & safety, GDPR, and site rules.
* Participate in emergency drills and regular training sessions.
Licence Requirements
* Valid SIA Licence - Essential (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor).
* SIA CCTV (PSS) Licence - Essential
Shift Pattern
4 Days ON | 4 Days OFF | 4 Nights ON | 4 Days OFF
Day Shift: 07:00-19:00 | Night Shift: 19:00-07:00
Additional cover for reception or loading bay may be required as per client request.
