Job Summary
Practice Manager – Part-time (30 hours per week across 4 days) at North Beverley Medical Centre, Pighill Lane, Beverley HU17 7JY, United Kingdom.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
* Contract performance monitoring, review and sign‑ups.
* Track business changes and opportunities, propose solutions to GP Partners.
* Lead business development, system and project management.
* Develop, review and update business protocols and procedures.
* Procure practice equipment, supplies and services within target budgets.
* Maintain comprehensive insurance cover (building, contents, public and employer’s liability).
* Represent the practice at business and PCN meetings.
* Lead the online presence of the practice.
* Plan, schedule and chair meetings, ensuring agendas, minutes and actions are recorded.
* Oversee premise management and maintenance.
* Lead health and safety matters, conduct annual risk assessments, keep fire safety standards and training up to date.
* Ensure secure premises at all times.
* Explore and deliver opportunities to improve profitability through maximising income and managing overhead costs.
* Manage contracts for services (utilities, maintenance, gardening, etc.) and ensure value for money.
* Maintain liaison with finance colleagues.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and coordinate all projects.
* Interpret and implement national, local and practice quality standards.
* Develop and manage patient services.
* Manage demand and capacity of services and appointments, working with GP Partners and clinical team to solve challenges.
* Ensure clinicians are registered, revalidated and have DBS and liability insurance.
* Lead CQC registration and compliance as registered manager.
* Achieve QoF targets.
* Lead on equality and diversity with partners.
* Lead on IT matters, GDPR compliance and confidentiality.
* Respond to Freedom of Information requests.
* Implement Practice Complaints and Significant Events procedures.
* Identify and alert the team to quality and risk issues.
* Manage own time, workload and resources effectively.
* Maintain personal development.
* Communicate effectively with staff, external agencies, patients and carers.
* Accommodate alternative communication methods when required.
* Oversee human resource management, performance and disciplinary matters in line with NHS standards.
* Directly manage the administrative team and non‑clinical staff on nursing and salaried GP teams.
* Recruit, retain, induct and train staff.
* Lead performance management for employed staff.
* Develop staff skill‑mix, monitor deployment and set role boundaries.
* Implement staff appraisal process and ensure up‑to‑date DBS checks.
* Ensure staff competence and safety, including initial employment checks.
* Maintain and update employment policies and procedures to comply with legislation.
* Support equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues.
* Recognise and respect the rights and dignity of all individuals.
* Behave in a welcoming, non‑judgmental and respectful manner.
Qualifications
* English and Maths grade C or above.
* Post‑graduate level qualification in Finance, HR, Business or Primary Care Management (desirable).
Experience
* Experience in NHS Primary Care or GP Practice.
* Significant, demonstrable experience in a staff management position.
* Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
* Excellent management and IT skills, including fast and accurate keyboard use.
* Experience with personnel issues, training and supervision.
* Good knowledge of employment law.
* Experience with clerical and administrative work, setting up new systems and managing change.
* Financial planning and budget control experience.
* Experience with GP practice clinical software such as SystemOne (desirable).
* Proof of leadership in a complex organisation (Business, HR or Operational Management) (desirable).
