Are you an experienced Business Development Manager looking for a new challenge? Baltic Recruitment is currently recruiting for a highly motivated and results-driven Permanent Business Development Manager (BDM) to work for a client based in Manchester, joining their remote team.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and sales initiatives. The successful candidate will initially spend a few days/weeks in our client’s Manchester Office to get to know the team and business. Afterwards, the role will be remote with a car allowance and expenses paid (TBD at interview stage). This role is flexible; our client aims to tailor the role to suit the successful candidate and the business.
Coverage: Leicester, Birmingham, and London Areas (Remote)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, networking, and outreach
2. Generate and qualify leads through various channels
3. Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand their needs and propose appropriate solutions
4. Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to align strategies and drive business growth
5. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients (opening doors to meetings for estimators to then complete quotes for customers)
6. Negotiate contracts and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets
7. Track and report on business development activities, pipeline, and performance metrics using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
8. Drop samples, etc.
9. Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market conditions
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Executive, or similar role
* Demonstrated ability to close deals and meet or exceed targets
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment
* Proficient with CRM software and MS Office or Google Workspace
* Lighting Industry knowledge/experience is preferred but candidates without industry knowledge will be considered
* Must be passionate about sales

* Salary: £45,000 to £70,000 DOE
* Working hours: Monday to Thursday, either 8am – 4:30pm or 9am – 5:30pm; Friday 8:30am - 3pm
