Overview
Reporting into the Procurement Director for the UK, the Senior Procurement Manager will deliver Category Management policy & governance across the Tarmac business and support the wider CRH Procurement Category Management framework.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement Category Management strategies and governance across Tarmac.
* Manage the policy and governance for category management in Tarmac.
* Provide coaching and guidance to Category Managers & Assistant Category Managers for assigned categories totalling over £500m annualised spend.
* Own and manage the category leads for fleet & logistics, FM & Estates and General Services, including strategy development, delivery of best value and driving cost reduction.
* Work closely with the Procurement Director, Category Managers and the business to determine sourcing needs, capture synergy opportunities and leverage economies of scale.
* Deliver category roadmaps and the 5‑stage sourcing process, ensuring category managers follow procurement processes.
* Drive annual cost savings projects and other wider procurement benefits.
* Lead aspects of functional management and development plus engagement responsibility within one of the business regions.
* Develop best‑in‑class expertise and global market knowledge for assigned categories.
* Build strong and effective relationships with internal customers and external supply partners.
Qualifications
* Key liaison into the CRH Category Management Teams; strong stakeholder management and engagement required.
* Established management experience within procurement and/or category/commodity management function.
* Able to deal with ambiguity and flexibly change approach in a demanding environment.
* Strong organisational and project management capability.
