As an Ecologist at Foster + Partners, you will join a growing landscape team contributing to high-profile international master-planning, public realm and regeneration projects. You’ll help shape environmental design solutions by applying strong ecological knowledge across diverse biomes, advocating for biodiversity, and providing insight that guides responsible, nature positive design outcomes.

* Work closely with landscape architects and design teams to embed biodiversity across global projects.
* Advocate for nature positive design and promote the mitigation hierarchy in project development.
* Undertake ecological research, site analyses and assessments of habitats, species and protected areas.
* Provide early-stage ecological impact assessments and practical biodiversity advice.
* Carry out biodiversity net gain, natural capital and related ecological metric calculations.
What you\'ll bring to the studio
* Strong understanding of habitat ecology and species across multiple geographies.
* Ability to support ecological design thinking through research, analysis and clear communication.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing tasks.
* A proactive, positive approach and confidence working both independently and within a team.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and graphical.
Qualifications and skills
* Degree level qualification in ecology, biology, natural sciences or a related discipline.
* Experience providing ecological advice within design, development or construction contexts.
* Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body such as CIEEM.
* Good working knowledge of GIS and familiarity with ecological fieldwork.
* Flexible attitude with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
