 
        
        Health Safety and Environmental Coordinator – Location: Hull. Salary: £29,000-£33,000 plus benefits. Permanent role.
Overview
We are looking for a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator to support ongoing compliance and continuous improvement across all operational areas. The role will be based in Hull and will involve working in a team of four other HSE professionals.
Responsibilities
 * Maintain the HSE compliance calendar, ensuring all statutory inspections, audits, and services (e.g. PUWER, LOLER, LEV, fire systems) are completed on time.
 * Coordinate with contractors and internal departments to arrange inspections and maintenance.
 * Carry out and record regular safety checks, including fire door, emergency lighting, and racking inspections.
 * Keep accurate digital records of all inspections, certifications, and outstanding actions.
 * Support with risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and internal audits.
 * Assist in incident and near-miss investigations, tracking corrective actions through to completion.
 * Monitor stock levels of PPE and first aid supplies, ensuring timely replenishment.
 * Provide administrative support for HSE training, occupational health appointments, and compliance documentation.
 * Escalate any compliance concerns or overdue actions promptly.
Ideal Candidate
 * Strong organisational and time management skills.
 * Good working knowledge of HSE principles, particularly around compliance and inspections.
 * Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with both internal teams and external contractors.
 * Familiarity with PUWER, LOLER, and COSHH regulations.
 * High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
 * Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital record systems.
 * NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification – essential (or working towards it).
 * Previous experience working within Health and Safety, e.g., HSE Administrator, HSE Officer, H&S Advisor, HSE Compliance.
