Overview
We are looking to recruit Health Care Assistants working on Ward F5 and GAU, providing clinical support to assist registered nurses in the assessment, planning and delivery of care to patients. Shifts patterns are over 7 days covering days and nights.
Responsibilities
* After appropriate training undertake physiological observations, venepuncture and cannulation, 12 lead ECGs, triaging, and accurately record findings and refer information to a trained nurse.
* Opportunities to assist in Outpatients with hysteroscopy and colposcopy procedures providing a varied specialised care.
* Establish and maintain communication with people about routine and daily activities overcoming any differences in communication between the people involved.
* Develop own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to help their development.
* Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area.
* Assist in maintaining and developing services.
* Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
* Ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights.
* Assist in assessing people's health and wellbeing and related needs.
* Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating programmes to meet people's health and wellbeing needs.
* Assist in the application of technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.
* Undertake delegated responsibilities from registered staff as appropriate.
* After appropriate training undertake clinical observations of care and accurately record findings and refer information on to the trained nurse.
* After appropriate training undertake 12 lead ECG recording.
* After appropriate training undertake venepuncture.
