Responsibilities
* Clinical expert in direct patient care: assessment, examination, documentation, prescription, implementation, and evaluation of care with appropriate discharge for adults & children with undifferentiated minor injuries and illness.
* Engage in Shift Lead duties regularly to ensure optimal patient placement and care delivery.
* Support development of non‑medical led models of care in urgent treatment settings, collaborating with multi‑professional colleagues.
* Improve patient treatment through timely assessment, referral, responsive intervention, anticipatory care planning, and optimal discharge coordination.
* Deliver high standards of care, using clinical knowledge and experience to provide timely, appropriate care.
* Lead and promote staff empowerment in planning and developing patient services; act as lead for learning & development, supporting clinical skills education and fostering a culture of clinical leadership.
* In absence of the Manager or Deputy Clinical Lead, take responsibility for a range of duties ensuring seamless, high‑quality service.
* Apply clinical skills: undertake patient assessment, physical examination, demonstrate expert diagnostic skill in line with clinical policies, guidelines, Patient Group Directives, and prescribing legislation; complete relevant clinical courses and competency documents per the UTC Clinical Development Pathway.
Qualifications
* Professional registration with the NMC or HCPC.
* Completion of relevant clinical courses and competency documentation as required by the UTC Clinical Development Pathway.
