We are supporting recruitment for a Procurement Manager role which is with a mechanical engineering business based in Southampton. This is a permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 16:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 16:00 pm. salary is negotiable by experience up to circa £40,000 plus benefits. Ideally you will have procurement/buyer experience of working in petrochemical / pipe work / flanges / pressure vessels or similar industry/products.
Responsibilities:
Obtain quotations from preferred suppliers and review and measure costs and manage approved suppliers
Procuring all materials or sub-contract services to meet fabrication projects specifications
Liaise with internal departments regarding client tender submissions
Ensure contract services are procured and delivered on time for projects
Working closely with the quality department to ensure accurate procurement processes and delivered within timescales expected
Skills and Experience required for the Procurement Manager role:
Good communication skills, high level of numeracy skills
Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills
Experience of working in procurement or a buyer role with relevant industry experience.
