Part time SEN Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)
We are a Federation of two Outstanding schools for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, some with associated autistic spectrum disorder. Manor Mead is our Primary School in Shepperton for 4-11 year olds with a satellite provision at our Virginia Water site; our Secondary School, Walton Leigh, for 11-19 year olds is in Walton-on-Thames. We would like a part time class teacher (3 days a week) at our Primary site in Shepperton to cover Maternity leave for up to a year, start date December 2025. Successful candidates will be supported within the class by a senior teaching assistant and a team of teaching assistants and more widely by a senior management team with many years’ experience and an excellent understanding of the rewards and challenges of teaching in a special school. You will also be collaborating with parents, therapists, specialist teachers and other professionals to support our pupils’ diverse needs and enable them to learn and make progress. You will have responsibility for a curriculum area (unless you are an NQT) which will be agreed on appointment.
