We are looking to recruit a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our client's busy, award-winning hotel kitchen, based in a beautifully located east Cornwall fishing village.
This is a pivotal role within the kitchen, responsible for taking the lead in the head chef's absence. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills while maintaining respect across all levels within the kitchen. Supporting and mentoring junior chefs to develop their skills is also a key part of the role.
The operation includes a Bistro and TDH Menu, and can cater for weddings and events for up to 150 guests.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role at a comparable level. You should be focused, driven, passionate, and capable of commanding a kitchen. Mentoring and teamwork skills are essential. The candidate should also show longevity in their CV and a desire to progress professionally.
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role and level

* Excellent knowledge of seasonal foods and dishes
* Exceptional communication skills and authoritative presence
* Highest standards of hygiene
* Team player, effective in a team environment
* Genuine love of food, with creativity and flair for menu creation
