Full-Time Teacher – SEMH Specialist School (Wirral) Location: Wirral Contract: Full-Time A specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Wirral is seeking an experienced, committed, and resilient Full-Time Teacher to join their dedicated team. The school provides highly individualised education for 15 pupils, each with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and presenting a range of significant behavioural, emotional, and social needs. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, nurturing environment where staff consistency, emotional understanding, and personalised learning approaches make a powerful impact on young people’s lives. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Deliver high-quality, differentiated learning to pupils with complex SEMH needs. Use strong behaviour regulation and de‑escalation techniques to maintain a safe, structured environment. Build trusting, positive relationships that support emotional regulation and engagement in learning. Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals to implement tailored support. Plan creative, flexible lessons that meet a wide range of academic and developmental needs. Contribute to a whole‑school approach where empathy, boundaries, and safety are at the heart of daily practice. Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Proven experience working in SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, or specialist SEND settings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach. Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex behaviours and emotional needs. Why Join This School?
