Locum Consultant in Haematology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate interested in a Consultant Haematologist post at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust to develop interest in malignant Haematology and Haemoglobinopathies.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Haematologist to join our well established, dedicated and supportive team.
The successful candidate will join a team of nine consultants supported by four registrars from the North East London rotation and five clinical fellows to serve a population of 750,000.
Main duties of the job
Any consultant who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Person Specification
Shortlisting Criteria
* MRCP / FRCPath or equivalent
* Full and Specialist registration and a license to practice
* Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or CCT date is within six months of interview
* Fully competent in bone marrow aspirate and biopsy, lumbar puncture
* Understand and be competent at management of all aspects of general and malignant haematology
* Experience of teaching and supervision of medical students and trainees
* Formal training in management
* Evidence of having undertaken audit work that has brought about change
